This hinges on something you alone must *decide*, you can't discover *evidence* that will enable you to answer questions about who you *ought* to be.
In my experience (which no one asked about), once you *decide* who you ought to be, you can then use *evidence* about the successes and failures of your efforts to become that person as a form of feedback to sharpen your efforts to change. If you keep focused and apply consistent effort, you will achieve measurable results that will include failures. You must not allow the failures to discourage you.
